Academic Accreditation

(USHECA)’s Criterion For Accreditation

(USHECA) Establishes criteria for educational institutions operating internationally, requiring them to implement and maintain quality standards. Successful compliance with these standards leads to accreditation, signifying that the institution meets recognized benchmarks of excellence in education.

Criterion I- Mission

The aim of the institution and the educational standards it follows must be obvious and understandable to the general audience. The institution's nature and scope must be defined publicly. The institution's concentration on research, scholarship, instruction, and academic programs must be clearly communicated to the public.

  • The school has a widely published mission statement approved by its governing board that articulates a goal appropriate for a higher education institution, provides direction for its actions, and is derived from and understood by its community.

  • The institution defines mission fulfillment in terms of its purpose, characteristics, and expectations. Based on that description, it articulates institutional accomplishments or results that indicate an acceptable level or extent of purpose fulfillment.

Criterion II- Integrity

The institution operates with integrity to guarantee that its mission is met through structures and processes that include the board, administration, faculty, staff, and students.

  • The institution's governance and administrative culture encourage effective leadership and collaborative processes that allow it to achieve its objective.

  • The institution maintains and defends its integrity.

Criterion III: Student Learning and Effective Teaching

The institution provides evidence of student learning and teaching effectiveness that demonstrates it is fulfilling its educational mission.

  • The institution's goals for student learning outcomes are clearly stated for each educational program and make effective assessment possible.

  • The institution values and supports effective teaching.

  • The institution creates effective learning environments.

  • The institution's learning resources support student learning and effective teaching.

Criterion IV: Application of Knowledge

  • The school promotes a life of learning for its faculty, administration, staff, and students by encouraging and supporting inquiry, creativity, practice, and social responsibility in ways that align with its mission.

  • The institution values a life of learning, as seen by the acts of its board, administrators, faculty, staff, and students.

  • The university demonstrates that acquiring a diverse set of information and abilities, as well as engaging in intellectual inquiry, are essential components of its educational programs.

  • The school evaluates the relevance of its curricula for students who will live and work in a global, varied, and technology world.

  • The institution helps faculty, students, and staff acquire, develop, and apply knowledge ethically.

Criterion V - Resources, Planning, and Institutional Effectiveness

The institution demonstrates that its resources, governance structures, and operational processes are sufficient to achieve its mission, strengthen the quality of its academic offerings, and adapt effectively to future challenges and opportunities. The institution engages in proactive and strategic planning to ensure long-term stability and growth.

  • The institution prepares realistically for a future shaped by evolving economic, technological, and sociological trends. It allocates and manages resources responsibly to support existing academic programs and to uphold its commitment to improving educational quality over time.

  • Robust systems of evaluation and assessment provide credible evidence of institutional effectiveness.

  • These results guide continuous improvement efforts and ensure that strategic decisions are informed, data-driven, and outcome-focused.

  • All planning efforts, from departmental strategies to institution-wide initiatives, are fully aligned with the institution’s mission, strengthening its ability to fulfill that mission with integrity and excellence.
